1. WHAT BRONTEX IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Brontex is used to relieve expectoration in acute and chronic bronchial and pulmonary diseases in which persistent secretions are produced.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE BRONTEX TABLETS FOR COUGH RELIEF
Brontex should not be used:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ambroxol hydrochloride or any auxiliary substance of Brontex;

Special Precautions Needed:
There have been very rare reports of severe skin reactions of the Stevens-Johnson and Lyell type occurring with the use of ambroxol. In the event of changes in the skin and mucous membranes, it is necessary to immediately consult a doctor and stop taking ambroxol.

Impaired kidney function
If you have impaired kidney function, Brontex should be used very carefully (that is, at a lower dose or with longer breaks between taking the medicine) after consulting your doctor first.

Severe renal failure
In severe renal failure, metabolites formed by the liver from ambroxol may accumulate in the body.

Severe liver disease
If you suffer from severe liver disease, Brontex can only be used very carefully (that is, at a lower dose or with longer breaks between taking the medicine) after consulting your doctor first.
Brontex should be used with extreme caution under the supervision of a physician in the presence of a rare bronchial disease (such as malignant ciliary syndrome) characterized by a large accumulation of sputum in the airways, as secretions may accumulate in the airways.

Children
Brontex 30 mg tablets are not suitable for the treatment of children under the age of 6 due to the high dose of the drug they contain. For the treatment of such patients, it is suitable to use a syrup with a lower amount of the active substance. Since ambroxol can irritate the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, the drug should be used with caution in patients who have or have had a peptic ulcer.

Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those bought without a prescription.

Anti-cough drugs
When using Ambroxol together with anti-cough drugs, a dangerous secretion stasis can occur due to inhibition of the cough reflex, so the combination of the above-mentioned drugs can only be used according to very precisely determined indications.

Antibiotics
It has been observed that ambroxol used together with amoxicillin, cefuroxime, doxycycline and erythromycin improves the penetration of the mentioned antibiotics into bronchial secretions.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
It is necessary to consult a doctor or pharmacist before using any medicine.
Ambroxol hydrochloride penetrates the placental barrier. Animal studies have shown no direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to pregnancy, embryonal or fetal development, parturition or postnatal development. It is not recommended to use Brontex during the first three months of pregnancy.
The active substances of the preparation pass into breast milk. Brontex is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers, although adverse effects on the baby should not occur.

Driving and using machines
The ability to drive and use machines is not affected

Important information about some of the excipients of Brontex
This medicine contains lactose monohydrate. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some carbohydrates, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

3. HOW TO USE BRONTEX TABLETS
Always take Brontex 30 mg tablets exactly as your doctor has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Children 6-12 years old
Usually half a Brontex tablet should be taken 2-3 times a day (this corresponds to 2-3 times 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Adults and children over 12 years of age
It is usually necessary to give one Brontex tablet 3 times a day for the first 2-3 days (which corresponds to 2-3 times of 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day), then - 2 times for one tablet (which corresponds to 2 times 30 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Reference
If you have impaired kidney function or suffer from severe liver disease, the dose of the drug should be reduced or longer breaks between the use of the drug should be prescribed by the doctor. If you think the effect of Brontex is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Method and duration of administration
Brontex tablets should be swallowed whole after a meal, with plenty of liquid (eg a glass of water, juice or tea).

Reference
Drinking enough fluids increases the effect of Brontex on secretion liquefaction. Therefore, it is necessary to drink enough fluids during treatment. The duration of drug use is determined by the doctor, depending on the severity of the disease. If you take the medicine without a doctor's instructions, do not take Brontex for more than 4-5 days.

If you take too much Brontex In the
event of an overdose of Brontex, contact your doctor. Urgent treatment measures - inducing vomiting and gastric lavage - are usually not appropriate; they can only be tried if there are signs of overdose.
Means should be used to treat those symptoms that occur after an overdose of the drug.
Transient agitation and diarrhea have been reported. Accidental or deliberate overdose of the drug may cause the following symptoms: excessive salivation, vomiting, decreased blood pressure.

If you forget to take your cough medicine
If you forget to take Brontex 30 mg tablets or take too little of them, you do not need to take a double dose; continue to take the medicine as directed by your doctor.
